David practices intellectual property law with an emphasis on mechanical patents. He has extensive experience in managing large and small patent portfolios, as well as in all aspects of client counseling in the patent field including U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, patent searches, patentability opinions, validity and infringement opinions, pre-litigation assessments, clearance investigations, re-design evaluations, pre-acquisition due diligence, technology transfers, and general licensing matters. On behalf of his clients, David has handled appeals, re-examinations, re-issue applications and other proceedings before the United States Patent Office.

A particular focus of David's practice is strategically filing patents in order to improve his client's competitive position in the marketplace in a cost-effective manner.

David's technology areas are directed primarily toward the mechanical arts and include electromechanical systems, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, drilling machines, exhaust systems, grinding machines, pumps, boats, telecommunications equipment, product handling systems, filtration systems, medical devices, valves, sporting goods, power tools, hand tools, athletic apparel, hydraulic systems, and manufacturing methods.
